A Vegan Cafe
Its amazing how I enjoyed eating brunch with some bloggers I just met at Green Bar, a vegan cafe in Beyond Yoga, Westgate Alabang. No doubt its my first vegan diet experience. The cafe has a relaxed and homey atmosphere. It has even a couch with some books you can read for free. For sisters and vegans like, Michelle, Jade and Sarada, owners of Beyond Yoga, Westgate Alabang branch, they put up Green Bar because they find that it’s very difficult to look for a place in the south where a person can eat delightfully and satisfied, without feeling guilty at all.

You work out you feel great with all that sweat and when it’s time to eat you can’t find anything healthy anywhere other than your favorite fast food? And when you give in to that fries and burger, oh no…that guilt..
Well, it’s a good thing Green Bar is not only for vegan but for healthy freaks like me. I don’t know about you but when I hear vegan I would think of okra, bitter melon (ampalaya) and all that dreaded meal as a kid. I mean, I am into fitness and into healthy eating , I eat salad, lettuce and all that but I’m very picky when it comes to veggies, please.
What’s on their menu
You have options like Hail Seitan, BBQ tofu, Sweet Basil, Breakfast Burrito, Cuban Burritto. Check out their menu below. These sandwiches and wraps are home-cooked.

bad cropping habit! haha sorry!
Call me dumb, but I’ve never heard of Seitan, (I actually thought its spelled as Satan). So according to Google, Seitan is a wheat meat, a protein of wheat. How do you make a seitan? I’m sure vegetarians would know how. Hail Seitan is Green Bar’s signature sandwich, you’ll understand why when you try.

Hail Seitan (Php350.00) – home made crisp seitan, caramelized onions, cashew cream, vegan mayo. Even without meat, it tasted so good.

Cuban Burrito (Php200.00) – Red rice, black beans, fried plantains, spicy seitan, pico de gallo and chimchurri sauce

Breakfast Burrito (Php220.00) – a wrap with scrambled tofu, roasted potatoes, sweet seitan sausage. Tried it with hot sauce, *thumbs up*

Chia Fruit Cup (Php150.00) – made with vegan chia seed, vanilla pudding, fresh fruit, granola and agave. Soy free.

Vegan Pizza – Not sure what this is called. I think this is new on their menu. The homemade mozzarella is absolutely delicious.
Egg and dairy-free, (guilt-free) vegan cupcakes. I was like really its delicious… it tasted just the same with other guiltful cupcakes.

The Baller (Php75.00/each) – a power ball with a bunch of oats, almond butter, dates, chia seeds, flax seeds, goji berries and nuts. (soy free, gluten free)

They also aim to be a one-stop shop for yoga enthusiasts by offering Red Bomb casual athletic wear and accessories.
I also found out that Beyond Rockwell will open soon. It’s going to be at the 3/f of 38 Rockwell Drive, Rockwell Center Makati City.
