The Backyard Reservoir, Malingap St., Quezon City

September 12, 2014

The Z or Z Compound is located along the street of Malingap in Teacher’s Village Quezon City. I got an impression it was an old and abandoned house turned into a food court with decent restaurants. I heard there’s 13 or 14 kind and The Backyard Reservoir is one of them. Whoever thought of it was brilliant. It’s like visiting Banchetto or Mercato next door. What’s not to like?

The Backyard Reservoir

Friends for more than 10 years, Tertius and Mic, the owners, came up with the name because their restaurant was supposed to be the last one to be constructed at the back, (eventually the owners of the Zone thought it would be best to have more restaurants,) hence the Backyard Reservoir. Originally their plan was to offer steaks and grills, however, residential area and a lot of heavy grilling won’t be a good combination for the neighborhood according to them. So pizza, pasta, wine and subs it is! (holds mustache from roots to tips).

Pizza, Pasta, Wine, Subs

Hmmmmmm! Freshly baked pizza, gourmet subs and pasta and whats great is that they sell it at reasonable prices. Student prices, I must say! What I particularly like is the 3 Cheese Pesto and El Pago. With their sub sandwiches, one order can already make me feel full and satisfied. I mean the delicious stuffing is overflowing! I didn’t know how to fill it in my mouth haha! We had to cut it in bits.
