Our plane trip was naturally smooth but upon arriving Changi International Airport at 1:00am, we had to stay and wait for the MRT to open at 6 in the morning. Staying at Mcdonalds (Terminal 2, Arrival Hall) was the only choice we had so I ordered a regular fries, a green matcha sundae ($2.80) and a hot milo. That green tea ice cream was amazing! I also noticed the sweet and spicy sauce in their condiments area, I just had to try it, goes well with the fries.
Nona, my friend, lent us her two EZ Link Cards. All we needed to do was just to top it up with at least $10 minimum. There are self- service machines so we didn’t really have to talk to anyone. If you want to know how to use it, you can search for it in youtube.
I was able to find a budget room in Somerset, which is one station away from Orchard Center. It was absolutely perfect because my favorite Cold Stone Creamery is just a 5 minute walk away. How cool is that?
On our first day, we went to IKEA, Alexandra. If you’re wondering how to get to IKEA, I made a separate blog post just click here. IKEA definitely blew our mind. I wanted to move in right then and there. Everything you have imagined your dream home would be like, you can see it all there. From modern architectural design of furniture and appliances to eco-friendly and cute stuff. I’ll come back to horde some stuff I swear. hehe.
We bought a Lilabo Basic Train Set and Car, wooden toys
Now for our lunch, we planned to eat at IKEA but the place was jam packed so we went back to Orchard and had our late lunch at Food Republic in 313 Somerset. We ordered Hong Kong Style Roasted Chicken at $11.50 and a bottle of water at $1.50 each.
On to our next stop, the Singapore Flyer. From Somerset Mrt Station, we got off Promenade Station and walked our way to the flyer. We didn’t need to line up to buy tickets because we bought it online. We went straight to the entrance and showed our print-out tickets.
No words can explain how lovely and spectacular the view was for me, as much as I want to take photos I purposely avoided using my mobile phone and camera, it’s not everyday that you get the chance to take a look at the view like that so I just stared..
We happily walked the entire time to Helix Bridge and The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. Couldn’t help but wonder why Manila do not have nice view as beautiful as this. Our feet was hurting but we savored each moment.
Ended up having dinner at an eatery in Killiney Road. Tried the Beef Nasi Biryani at SG$5 and Fanta In Can $1.60. Curry it is!
